As I reflect on 2016, I think of all the wonderful opportunities I’ve had to help others in mental health advocacy and all the milestones I’ve accomplished. I quit AutismSees. I spoke at several conferences. I graduated College. I moved to Los Angeles. My dog Chauncey passed her service dog training. I wanted to highlight one of the more memorial conferences I spoke for, “All About Women” at the Sydney Opera House. It was amazing, to say the least. I got to meet many amazing speakers and woman including Piper Kerman of Orange is the New Black, Carrie Brownstein, star of Portlandia and author of Hunger Makes Me a Modern Woman, and Miranda July. It was truly an honor to be considered and spread the word of mental health advocacy with these incredible ladies.
I spoke about how mental health and diversity acceptance occurs effectively in small increments of mindful action. It starts at home, in your workplace, and in your life, with you. To listen to my full talk: Click HERE
I did a few interviews while I was there. My favorite by far was with Marc Fennell: Australian film critic, technology journalist, radio personality, author, and television presenter. Seriously, this guy is talented and hilarious. When we met, I felt instantly comfortable around him. He had that uncanny ability to bring out my sense of humor. The result of our interaction was a fantastic interview I suggest you all watch. It is the most accurate depiction of who I am in real life and what I care about. To watch this interview: Click HERE
I hope you all had a safe and happy new year. I have a lot of exciting announcements coming up soon. Stay in touch!
